Products & Technology

SunSquare sun sails are patented, fully automatic, wind-monitored shading systems made of high-quality Marine-quality stainless steel. They retract almost completely and discreetly into their shaft and protect up to 80 m² from sun, rain, and strong winds — ideal for villas, large terraces and pool areas.

Absolutely — they are specially designed for Mediterranean conditions. The integrated wind sensor automatically retracts the sail in storms (up to Beaufort 5 – 6), and the materials are salt-water and UV resistant.

Yes, but we recommend covering or retracting it during the off-season to protect from dirt and falling leaves. The system is fully weatherproof all year around. While being nearly maintenance-free systems, we offer a winter-service where we store the sails in our warehouse and give them a good spring cleaning for an even longer lifespan of 10 years or more.

Extremely. The electronic monitoring system retracts the sail automatically at the first sign of strong wind, protecting the system even in Mallorca’s storms. The greatest strength of our systems is their longevity. We installed the first SunSquare systems in 1999 on Ibiza and Mallorca — and they are still running.

The sail can be closed manually with the included emergency crank.

Yes — the sail fabrics protect from up to medium strong rain. Water runs off cleanly thanks to the precise slope we calculate during planning. Our automated sun sails protect from up to 96% UV-radiation, wind, rain and preying eyes.

A modular sun sail system covers large areas of terraces and pool areas, effectively protecting from preying eyes and providing you with privacy and comfort.

SunSquare is a fully automatic system, wind-monitored, and fully retractable — with extreme longevity. Traditional shade sails or awnings are static or manual and far less durable in strong winds, often lasting only one season.

Prices vary on model and size, as all installations are bespoke. A typical configuration of the free-floating top of the line SunSquare Cantilever model with a sail size of around 40 m² is €25,000 including planing, transport and installation in Spain. Exact price depends on size, mounting points, and location extras.

SunSquare sun sails withstand extreme climate for decades with ease, especially in the Mediterranean coast with its extreme winds, salty air, Sahara sand rain and hot summers.

Installation & Planning

Our installations are considered “mobile shade”, like an umbrella and typically require no building permit for private residential installations. Larger commercial projects may require one. We assist with the paperwork and advise you on local regulations for your location.

Almost any solid surface: concrete, steel, wood beams, or facades. Our engineers check statics and insulation requirements for every project. The most common mounting points are the parapet on roof terraces.

Most residential installations in Ibiza or Mallorca are completed in one day by our certified, experienced and friendly technicians. From final planning and engineering, expect 4–6 weeks for production to delivery and installation.

Triangular and rectangular single sails from 20 m² up to 90 m² per sail. We manufacture every size custom for your terrace or pool area. Incompar Sun Sail are not an off-the-shelf system — all installations are bespoke and 100% adapted to your location and preferences.

We plan clearance and routing so cables stay free. Regular trimming is recommended to avoid interference with the pulleys. Larger palm trees may be incorporated in the set-up and make it even more discreet.

Maintenance & Care

Very little to none. The SunSquare system and all our Incompar Sun Sails are  considered maintenance-free. An annual professional inspection is recommended. Clean the fabric and stainless steel with mild soap and water. We offer maintenance contracts with winter storage and a spring-clean for the sails.

This happens very rarely. We use high performance dyneema ropes, typically used in Regatta sailing boats. A 4mm rope that holds up to 2,7 to. Our emergency service can replace it quickly. The highest-quality ropes are extremely durable, but we always keep spare parts in stock.
